Qigong incorporates gentle movements, meditation and breathing exercises that anyone can do. No matter your age, fitness level, or health condition, there are qigong practices you will be able to incorporate into your life to enhance your wellbeing.
Pay Attention to Your Abilities
During qigong practice, you are encouraged and empowered to modify practices according to your physical abilities. Qigong becomes safe for everyone by paying attention to your abilities.
There are many ways to modify qigong practice. For example if your balance isn’t great, you can hold onto a chair or railing until your balance improves. Practicing while seated is always an acceptable option. Using your strong mental focus while in the supine position is a powerful method of practice.
Pregnant students may need to modify certain movements. It is strongly recommended to consult your teacher and your doctor to determine which movements to modify and how to integrate them for your safety.
It’s All About Qi
Everyone can experience qi. Qigong is concerned with the internal movement of energy in your body, mind and spirit. It is less important to build muscle or push yourself to the extreme range of your physical abilities. Another integral part of qigong practice is letting go of distracting thoughts and allowing your mind to rest so that qi can flow freely.
Everyone Has Qigong Superpower
Qigong is an efficient and effective way to reduce stress and anxiety. Adding it into your daily routine develops your personal superpower by enhancing your cognitive abilities.
When the mind is calm, it becomes easier to remember important information, solve complex problems and make clear decisions. It is also easier to be kind, generous, and grateful when the mind is clear. Everyone can tap into this superpower now and as you age!
Empowering Recovery from Illness and Injuries
At some point in our lives, we all experience illness or injuries. Qigong is there to help speed up and support our complete healing. Even for minor injuries like a stubbed toe, we can use qigong breathing, mantras, and visualizations to reduce pain and bring us back to a state of calm and balance. With qigong we recover faster and become more resilient.
Qigong empowers us during healing of serious and chronic conditions. It helps us feel better, providing more hope for full recovery. Qigong can play a supportive role regardless of the type of illness or injury.
Several years ago, I read an inspiring article about qigong empowerment and self-healing. The article was about a man who became paralyzed after a car accident. Despite what his doctors and therapists told him, he regained movement in his whole body by practicing qigong. Initially, he could only engage his mind using qigong visualization and breathing. After much practice and regaining use of his limbs, he felt healthier than before his accident.
Supports All Aspects of Life
The way that qigong supports all aspects of our lives was a major attraction for me. It helped me be more balanced and effective in my everyday life including work, family life, hobbies and studies. Living life from a qigong perspective naturally encourages us to make healthier choices. We come to enjoy feeling healthy and, as a result, begin to choose better food, get more rest and reduce negative thinking. Because we feel better with qigong, we do everything better.
Everyone’s wellbeing can be enhanced with qigong.
